Just in case you forgot there is no youth group on tonight. Triple F & FOCUS resume after the school holidays on Friday the 14th October. Have a safe holiday and see you next term. Here’s a few things to think about over the holidays:

On his 89th birthday (August 31) NPR Senior News Analyst, Daniel Schorr, observed that President Bush had “staked out a non-position” on the debate between evolution and intelligent design. Bush had said that “both sides ought to be properly taught in the schools of America.” Then, with manifest scorn, Schorr linked the devastation of Hurricane Katrina with the concept of intelligent design: “[Bush] might well have reflected that, if this was the result of intelligent design, then the designer has something to answer for.” No, Mr. Schorr, you have something to answer for, not God. >>>TRIPLE F [year7-9] - After the success of last term we will be holding another Year9 Takes Over night tomorrow. It’s exciting to see the year9s step up and be leaders amongst their peers at youth group. NEXT WEEK we are going on an outing to ZONE3. Get your notes & money in this weekend.

>>>FOCUS [year10-12] - Last Friday was a challenging night as Rhett spoke from the Bible. Tomorrow night will be the second last talk in the GOD’S BIG PICTURE series. There are a number of our year 10 & 11 students who will be going on a mission trip to TONGA with their school. Can you pray for them? Pray that God would keep them safe, that they would be useful in their service of others on the trip as well as opportunities to share the death & resurrection of Jesus with people they meet. Ask God also that they would come back as people changed by the gospel and with eyes opened to the needs of our world. We hope and pray that they would continue to be godly leaders amongst their peers this year and beyond.
