Daylight Savings comes to an end this weekend… bring on the cold weather… and the extra hour sleep this Saturday night!!
Tomorrow night (23rd March 07) – CCECYOUTH IS ON @ ERINA HIGH SCHOOL. We won’t be able to use the hall because of the NSW Election on Saturday… BUT… We will meet for dinner at the picnic tables behind the hall @ 7pm. After dinner we will split into Juniors (yr 7-9) and Seniors (yr10-12). Juniors will be going to the canteen area and Seniors will be in the common room.
Pick up time is 930pm and entry is only $3 this week (this includes dinner).
Thanks to all those who were involved in Youth Sunday. There was lots of positive feedback from morning church members who were encouraged to see and hear from ccecyouth members.

THIS FRIDAY - Jono Vink is one of our CCEC link missionaries. He and his family live and work in Tanzania. Jono will be joining us this Friday night at CCECYOUTH… Juniors will be doing Super Jesus #3 from Colossians 1 and Seniors will continue in Matthew 26 with Unexpected Meaning. It’s going to be great…
YOUTH SUNDAY – This Sunday (18th March). If you don’t normally come to CCEC come this week!!! 830am, 1030am or 630pm. 630 will rock out – but make sure you come to one of the meetings in the morning. If you serve in Sunday School at 830 – come along for church @ 1030 (and vice versa). Erina High School Hall.

serving others at cecyouth and beyond…

Take just a minute to reflect on how awesome our Lord is. Think of all of creation, think on how the Lord made it all and has sustained it through every second of its existence. Think of the story of Israel through the Old Testament, think of how the Lord carried them through their trials, smashed their enemies, and saved them from destruction time and time and time again. Think about the incredible grace that has been shown to us in God’s own son dying for us on a cross so that we can be in eternal relationship with him. There is just so much to our God that it really is beyond our comprehension!
Now picture this: God, Ruler of the universe, Creator of all things and Redeemer of his chosen people, and imagine him in the skin of a middle aged man, on his knees in the dust, washing someone’s dirty, smelly feet. Sounds crazy doesn’t it? Read the rest of this entry »

While the writer of Mark has told the readers from the very beginning that Jesus is God’s chosen king, come to bring God’s long awaited kingdom, for some of the characters in these chapters understanding this is not so easy. The people are still trying to work out exactly what is going on and just who this amazing man is. Some of them will get it right some of them won’t.
