Purpose & Beliefs

CCECYOUTH purpose statement:

We exist to GLORIFY God in everything as we: GATHER to hear His Word; GROW in godliness; GIVE in service of others; share the GOSPEL of Jesus’ death & resurrection; and GLADLY rejoice in Him.

God is a God who created us for a purpose. In Colossians 1:16 we see that we were made by Jesus and for Jesus. Therefore the purpose of our life is tied up in the fact that we belong to Jesus our Creator. All the way through the Bible we see that our main purpose in life is that we bring GLORY to God in everything. This purpose overarches the other five [GATHER, GROW, GIVE, GOSPEL, GLAD] - and in doing them we see what it looks like to GLORIFY God with our whole life. Below are the memory verses that we have remembered to remind us of our purpose statement: GLORIFY: Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. [1 Corinthians 10:31]… Also see Colossians 3:17; 1Peter4:11; Romans 12:1-2. GATHER: [24] And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. [25] Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another–and all the more as you see the Day approaching. [Hebrews 10:24-25]… See also Titus 2:14; Acts 2:42; Hebrews 3:13. GROW: It [God's grace] teaches us to say No to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, [Titus 2:12]… See also Ephesians 4:11-16; 2Timothy 3:12. GIVE: This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. [1 John 3:16] … See also Philippians 2:3-5; 1Corinthians 10:24. GOSPEL: For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard. [Acts 4:20]… See also Romans 1:16; 1Peter 3:15-16; Colossians 4:5-6. GLADNESS: Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! [Philippians 4:4] >>>PURPOSEFUL PROGRAMS Although we hope that each of these 6 purposes are fulfilled whenever we get together (even when we’re not together!), we have different programs that help us to meet each of the 6 purposes:

  • At CCECYOUTH on a Friday night our primary purpose is to GATHER to hear His Word.
  • In our G-TEAMS (small group Bible studies) our primary purpose is to GROW in godliness
  • On top of our week-by-week programs, we also have camps, training events, summerfest + much more… that each help us in some way to seek to GLORY to God in everything we do.

CCECYOUTH upholds the fundamental truths of the Christian faith, including:

  • The divine inspiration and infallibility of Holy Scripture as originally given and its supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
  • The unity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in the Godhead.
  • The universal sinfulness and guilt of humanity since the fall, rendering men and women subject to God’s wrath and condemnation.
  • The conception of Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit and his birth by the Virgin Mary.
  • Redemption from the guilt, penalty and power of sin only though the sacrificial death, as our representative and substitute, of Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God.
  • The bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
  • The necessity of the work of the Holy Spirit to make the death of Christ effective in the individual sinner, granting him or her repentance towards God, and faith in Jesus Christ.
  • That to add meritorious works to faith in Jesus Christ as necessary for justification undermines grace and renders a sinner lost eternally.
  • The indwelling and work of the Holy Spirit in the believer granting gifts for service.
  • That there is no promise under the new covenant that assures the devoted follower of Christ perfect physical health and material wealth.
  • In the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they who are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they who are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
  • The expectation of the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • The Sovereignty of God in creation, revelation, redemption and final judgement.
